IDEA4RC

Intelligent ecosystem to improve
the governance, the sharing,

and the re-use of health data for rare cancers

IDEA4RC final meeting

As the IDEA4RC project enters its final phase, project partners will gather in Madrid on 24–25 June 2026 for a two-day meeting dedicated to ensuring that the project’s achievements continue to generate impact beyond its formal conclusion.

The meeting will focus on the sustainability of the IDEA4RC data infrastructure, exploring practical strategies to maintain and further develop the ecosystem of data, tools, and services created during the project. Discussions will address how participating centres can continue contributing to and benefiting from the infrastructure, strengthening long-term collaboration in rare cancer research across Europe.

A key part of the programme will be devoted to sharing experiences and lessons learned from the development and implementation of Natural Language Processing (NLP) solutions within IDEA4RC. Partners will discuss methodologies, challenges, and future opportunities to improve the extraction and reuse of valuable information from clinical records.

The second day will feature a hands-on study-a-thon designed to help clinical partners gain practical experience in using the IDEA4RC ecosystem to conduct collaborative research studies. The session will provide participants with the skills and confidence needed to make effective use of the project’s tools and resources.

The meeting will also serve as an opportunity to reflect on the project’s main achievements, align on key messages, and prepare for the final review phase.
